When you love your pets, it is not easy to find a pet sitter, because you want someone that you can trust will take good care of your pets while you are gone. We were at the pet store the other day, and they suggested calling the AARP. Apparently, they have a great program of matching retired people with people who need pet sitters. We were about to call them, and then we met someone who is going to be perfect. But let's suppose you are in a new place and don't know a good pet sitter. How would you go about finding one?

I've not used a pet sitter before. However, I've boarded my cat Purr (before I adopted Blaze) at an animal hospital when I was away on business, that had a cattery and dog runs for this kind of thing. My vet recommended the animal hospital. There was a charge per day, then additional charges for more play time and special grooming. It was kind of expensive, but I didn't have a lot of options at the time.

:) My mom will probably be left in charge... luckily my dance partner loves them too and is happy to take care of them while I'm gone :)

I guess I'm lucky

Here, the pet sitters are probably close friends or family members. We have pet hostels (I heard they charge about 10 USD per day - all services included)
