To reduce the pet dander and all the other things in the air you can expect from animals, I've tried air filters like Hepa etc, but the dogs hate them due to the noise/vibration.
Has anyone here used The Ionic Breeze Quadra ™ Silent Air Purifier with pets? How did your pets take to the Ionic Breeze, and was it actually effective in reducing the animal smell and particles in the air? |

No, I haven't, although it's an intriguing product as advertised (below). However, the Ionic Breeze is a little pricey, $349 to $399 per unit.

i just ordered 2 of them (2 for 1) at Sharper Image.
we'll see how well they work, my new wife is allergic to cats (though she loves them). she doesn't want to get rid of the cats so we're trying everything to create a happy home for everyone.
allergy medicine is an option but would rather not use drugs. |

well the ionic breezes are set up and working. they seem to be doing "something" but i wont know for a little while. it takes time to filter through enough air to make a difference and then my wife has to adjust to not having allergens around.
the air that comes out of them smells "different" but you get used to it quickly.
i figure the weekend will be a good measure.
but preliminaryily....
i set one up in the living room and one in the bedroom (door shut). by bed time the bedroom had a distinct "ionic breeze" smell. again you get used to it, maybe its the smell of "clean air". the one in the living room has its work cut out for it since thats the largest space.
aparently "clean air" falls though because i definitely pick up that smell down the stairs. my guess is that the air comes out of the ionic breeze and just ooozes down to the lowest part of the house (down the stairs). i think i'll turn on the ceiling fan.
my wife didn't wake up all sniffly and stuffy though. that's a good sign! especially for the first night. :D |

its hard to describe the smell that the ionic breeze creates.
at first i related it to "sterilized air" (if that makes any sense)
then i tried to associate it with other smells... it reminds me of nice hotels.
but now after using it for a while i don't notice the smell at all unless i'm right infront of the unit. |

You might want to check out this article.
 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7391185/
Consumer Reports magazine calls the air purifiers "unhealthy". Specifically, Consumer Reports claims that the Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier fails to significiently clean the air, but also releases potentially unhealthy levels of ozone. |

that is very interesting... i just cleaned my both my ionic breeze machines last weekend and they both had collected significant amounts of particles and dust.
i'd like to see the consumer reports test. |
