Shedding season has officially begun(in Japan!) and my cats are determined to fill my entire first floor with a layer of FUR! (They are housecats) I vacuum twice a day and go through their fur with a flea comb DAILY during this season. (The latter helps prevent them ingesting so much hair, thus they don't upchuck those nasty hairballs!) Is everyone giving extra care to their cats during sheding season?

Fortunately, my cat is short-haired (he is Siamese), so I don't have much problems with his hair. You can only see his hair on some black clothes. But, I imagine how much problems you have with long-haired cats! I wouldn't have strength to clean the floor covering 2 times a day.

Actually, my tabby is short-haired but my calico is medium-haired(?), neither are long-haired. They both shed excessively and it is very visible on my hardwood floors. Perhaps because of the extreme heat and humidity in this country the cats are shedding such a large amount of fur...

I'm trying, but it's hard to keep up with all the fur that one cat can generate!

You either keep up with the combing or it ends up in your food(Can humans get hairballs? ).
