Gemini, a female kitten, entered the world with two faces and, hopefully, at least nine lives. Gemini was born Sunday, June 12, with two mouths, two tongues, two noses and four eyes. Her owner is from Glide Oregon.

The owner, Lee Bluetear, was been breeding 4 pounds miniature cats. Gemini was born to a miniature mother and normal size father.
Gemini has two mouths, two tongues, two noses and four eyes, but a single windpipe and oesophagus. The veterinarian, Alan Ross, who examined Gemini when she was 2 days old gave her a 10 percent chance of survival. He said he and his collegues had never seen a two faced kitten before.
Gemini is said to be getting stronger and suckling well, but if she survives she will need surgery to remove the extra tissue between her two mouths. |
