:( My baby, Sammy is starting his process of passing over. He is weak and his back leg started trembling a few times. Then just now,he was on my lap and I thought that was it. I said goodbye and thanked him and all like that, and cried and grieved, which I hadn't done yet. Then the lure of the outdoor jungle brought him to life again.
He's sleeping now. Whew! Double whew!

Does any one who has gone through this know about the stages of dying of a cat at home?

My thoughts are with you too, Sammy's Mom.

The vet told me I would know when it was time, when kitty no longer had any quality of life. Signs might include lacking of eating, hiding, no interest in surroundings, and apparent pain or discomfort when touched or picked up.

Absolutely!

I log in, at least once a day, just to make sure that nothing has happened.

Oh, thanks so much, everyone! I appreciate your support very much!!!

Sammy seems to be doing much better!

I forget about this site most of the time, although I love nothing better than my fur-furs.

Thanks, Purr, for the symptom list.

Jonathan, can you change the title of this thread, please? Is it possible?
Since we're off red alert, maybe "Old Kitty" or something?
